Importing data from Blinksale
You can now very easily import your data from Blinksale to Zoho Invoice. Here are the steps for doing it –
- Sign-in to Zoho Invoice and click on the “Settings” link at the top right.
- Now, click on the “Import from Blinksale” link at the left under the “Import & Export Settings”
- Fill in the requested details and click on the “Import” button
You will also have to take care of the following-
Time zone: Update the time zone in Zoho Invoice, before importing you data from Blinksale. Configuring the time zone first will help us map the invoice’s data and time correctly.
Late fees: Late fee calculation is done differently in Zoho Invoice from that of Blinksale. In Zoho Invoice late fee is calculated on the invoice total which includes the invoice amount and taxes, where as in Blinksale it is just calculated for the invoice amount excluding the taxes.
To handle this we have added the late fee as one another line item in the invoices instead of adding it as late fee in Zoho Invoice system. This will ensure that the invoice amount does not get affected. If you want the late fee to be added to Zoho Invoice and the formula applied correctly, you will have to add it manually and edit the corresponding invoices.
Foreign Currency’s exchange rate: In Zoho Invoice whenever you raise an invoice in a foreign currency, we ask for its exchange rate with respect to your base currency (the currency in which you do your accounting). We need this exchange rate to generate invoice related reports as they all have to be shown in your base currency. Blinksale does not need this exchange rate as they don’t show any invoice related reports. To facilitate easy import of data, we assume the exchange rate to be “1”. You can edit the invoices, change the items price to base currency and specify the correct exchange rate to get the correct picture.
